Tons of papers due and tests to take this week. Of all the weeks, why does everything have to be due in the same week? Okay, enough of my whining.
Surprise, surprise, my brother flew in yesterday, which was very spontaneous of him, so he can attend his friend's birthday party (R.), which L. and I were invited to also. R. is the one who also had that Christmas party (refer to post in December titled "lamest party ever") and whose boyfriend (V.) dared L. to do the chocolate thing. Sorry if that's confusing. I have to use initials to respect the privacy of these people.
L. and I met up with my brother on Powell street in front of the Old Navy. We then went to Chinatown to get R.'s present. Didn't find anything. I bought a Zippo lighter though. I'm not taking up smoking or anything, I just want it for--worst case scenario--I'm bound by ropes in a mansion on the Austria-German border, and the Nazis left me to die (guess the movie!).
We found this really cool speaker system for ipods at the Apple store and got that instead. We then ate Chinese food at Beijing on Irving, a good place in San Francisco.
The party was nice, better than Christmas. V. was better this time, he wasn't being too much of an asshole. He's a great guy and very funny, but sometimes he doesn't know that he takes things too far. We played bingo the whole time and ate pizza. It was fun! Real bingo, too. They had the bingo balls in the spinning thing and bingo markers--those cool ink stamps. It was hilarious because the prizes were really cheesy. Most of them were stuffed animals that V. had won playing claw machines (he's a champ at that). For the last bingo card, we played blackout, and each of us paid a dollar a card so there'd be a cash prize. And guess who won! L. did! I was really happy for her. She got $23 bucks.
R. loved the gift, she actually got two different ipod stereo systems. It was a surprise to everyone, but very hilarious. V. took us home, and it was better this time, not much awkwardness. All in all, a good time.
Mom sent me a care package! Here's what was in it:
1. snacks (crackers, granola bars)
2. lens cloths (for my glasses)
3. honey oatmeal masque (from Timmie)
4. a copy of People magazine (from Grandma)
5. toothpaste
6. my Thrice 'if we could only see us now' dvd/cd (Amazing! Only I wish that they put where they were playing when they showed their live songs. Ordered this on Tower, and it was mailed to my house.)
7. thrice 7" record signed by the band (I was one of the first 150 customers to order the dvd/cd, and I got this. SO COOL!!!)
Off to do homework.
