Wow. Thanks God.

I was going to post this yesterday, but the blogger site was down. So here's my post...

I just had the most beautiful, amazing second of my life yesterday (thursday). Yes, it only lasted a second. But it felt like the longest second ever.

I decided to head over to this market to get something to drink and maybe a snack. I walk in, and then I almost decided to walk out and not spend my money. (You'll see why this is important later). I bought some chips and a bottle of Jones's green apple soda. Right when I walk out, this tall, cute guy walks by with a girl who's talking to him.

Her voice seemed to fade away, and we made eye contact for a second. It was beautiful. Thank you God. This is going to sound weird, but it felt just like that piece of lyric in "Such Great Heights": "I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images...". That song just came to me.

It felt like all those other moments I've had with beautiful guys who have no name. Stuff like that hasn't happened for quite a while. Just the fact that he made eye contact with me made me feel good. Like Jim Carrey in "Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind": "Why do I fall in love with every [boy, in my case] who shows me the least bit of attention?"

I've seen him before. He lives in my building. He's tall and skinny and very handsome. He has this moppy style haircut. Kinda like Trent's hair in "Daria". It's sort of swept over his forehead. He looks like a model for Calvin Klein, I kid you not. He's a good looking guy.

Anyway, so that was nice. Thanks God. I totally needed that. I mean, if I hadn't of bought anything, none of that eye freckle stuff would have happened. Haha. I'll see him again, I hope.

It's funny how something so small, so seemingly insignificant, like eye contact, can make the biggest impression on me. I'm affected by the littlest of things. It's a nice gift.

elaine a dit…

it was a nice second! i'll never forget it. he does look a little indie, but not so much that it looks like he's trying hard.

thanks, i hope i have more moments like these, and you're right, it was sunny that day, so it must be because it's spring.
