a lovely day

Finally, it's sunny! A nice day to go to West Portal and do errands. I mailed my letter! Haha. It only cost 80 cents. For some reason, I thought it would be more, like $3. The postal service lady who helped me said "merci" when I left. I thought it was hilarious.

The same environmentalist guy spoke to me again. He probably works every Tuesday. This time I said something, hahaha.

guy: "Got a minute?"
me: "No, I'm sorry." (I pass him by.)
guy: (yells after me) How about 30 seconds?
me: (turning around) "I can't, I'm sorry!"

I was very sincere though. I mean, I was on my way to class!

I like doing good deeds (with the help of "Amelie"), especially when I do them for people who don't know who I am. Me, "The Anonymous Good Deed Doer"! Anyway, I was on the MUNI sitting next to this lady. She was an older lady with a lot of bags. I got out these Smints I bought and offered her one. She really liked it. Is offering Smints a good deed? I think so. Then we said goodbye to each other when I got out at my stop. I'm going to try and do more good deeds more often.

Stuff I bought:
1. contact lens fluid
2. Smints (peach flavor! yum)
3. "Millions" soundtrack

elaine a dit…

this environ. guy's okay. maybe i'm overanalyzing too much, but i think he uses his good looks to get girls to petition and all that. you know? that day, he was actually there after my class, and he was talking to a girl (big surprise) into petitioning.

i actually stole the "good deeds" thing from Amelie. but it's neat that you had that as one of your Lenten promises when you weren't even influenced by the film. that was nice of you to give change! i'm going to buy a whole bunch of smints before i leave SF, and i'll give you some. for some reason I can never find smints down in so cal.

elaine a dit…

i agree with you that people can believe whatever they feel is right in their heart. but it's so true, being an atheist must be very tough. i can't fathom a world without God. i mean, to me, there is no world, no us, if there is no God.

i'm not the type of person that would speak up and debate the existence of a God, but debating a no-God? good luck. all i can say is, all this just didn't happen. no way.

it may seem to some that religion is just this nice, warm blanket we have to hold onto because it's nice, and the world is so cold. but it's so much more than that. to some (like me), it's part of us, something that will always be a part of my life.

anyway, i ramble. thanks for sharing that.
